Today was a bit of a tough day for our family as it was Laury's final day. We spent the morning helping her pack up and just doing anything she needed help with so we could spend a little extra time with her. After lunch, we packed into the van and headed off to the airport. Several times, Faith made comments about it being such a bad day and Elijah said that it did not feel right to have Laury leave.
We shared a house with her for 16 months and ate all our meals together and went on several car trips together. She has literally been a part of our family the whole time we have been here and been such a HUGE support to Bryan with administrative work as well as just being understanding, loving and supportive to all 5 of us. We will miss her.
As we began the tough process of saying our good-byes at the airport, we made a circle around her and the kids circled inside our circle and I prayed and then Laury prayed. We thought we were done when all of the sudden there was the sweet voice of Faith lifting a praying to God and asking for Laury's safety and that she would not miss us too much, and then Mercy joined in and prayed for Laury's flights and finally Elijah thanked God for Laury and their time together. It was beautiful and brought me to tears. Their love and faith and trust in God, even on a day when it hurts and it is hard to pray and say good-bye, left me speechless. God is good. He will be with Laury in California and He will be with us here, and we will all be thankful for the time He gave us as a unique family of 6!
Good-bye my dear sister, 'M'e 'Mathabo - go in khotso

Beautiful story. And beautiful to see your children's faith growing. Most every time I write you, a song comes to mind. Thinking about how God shows himself through the painful times and how your kids will see that.. "If I never had a problem, I wouldn't know how God could solve them" Through It All:
ReplyDeletei've Had Many Tears And Sorrows,
i've Had Questions For Tomorrow,
there's Been Times I Didn't Know Right From Wrong.
but In Every Situation,
god Gave Me Blessed Consulation,
that My Trials Come To Only Make Me Strong.
chorus:
through It All,
through It All,
i've Learned To Trust In Jesus,
i've Learned To Trust In God.
through It All,
through It All,
i've Learned To Depend Upon His Word.
verse 2:
i've Been To Lots Of Places,
i've Seen A Lot Of Faces,
there's Been Times I Felt So All Alone.
but In My Lonely Hours,
yes, Those Precious Lonely Hours,
jesus Lets Me Know That I Was His Own
chorus
verse 3:
i Thank God For The Mountains,
and I Thank Him For The Valleys,
i Thank Him For The Storms He Brought Me Through.
for If I'd Never Had A Problem,
i Wouldn't Know God Could Solve Them,
i'd Never Know What Faith In God Could Do
Love and prayers,
Karen B.
