Faith's Cow Lesson

Well...we all need a light hearted moment once in awhile, so I'll share a story about Faith today. I was in the kitchen washing up our lunch dishes and enjoying the view out our kitchen window. I noticed a herd of cattle coming by so I told Faith to come see them as she LOVES animals. She went out to the fence and there were about 4 of them that she could reach out and touch if she was brave enough (but she is not yet ready to pet a "big cow"). She was looking at a huge bull and said something about the bull being the biggest girl cow she had seen. I then explained that it was in fact not a girl cow because it did not have udders. Faith then said, "You mean only the girls cows have milk!" "Yes, that is the way God made them." Faith then proceeded to walk the length of the fence and look under each of the cattle (about 8 of them) to inform me which were cows and which were bulls. It was rather funny by itself, but then I realized that their shepherd was watching Faith with a curious face. Yep, we are some weird Americans here in Lesotho! I wish I had taken a picture of her walking down the fence looking under the cows because that visual is what made it so funny to me. I am glad I could start my week with a laugh. I hope you all have a great Monday too!

  1. Sooo funny, Anita! It reminds me of Maryam in the backseat of the car, examining her anatomically correct toy horse - "Mama, horsey has poo-poos on it butt!" Um... yes, dear. Poo-poos. :) We haven't been in touch much, but you are much in our prayers, friend.
